Hormel Foods once again appeared on the Fortune 500 List, ranking No. 311 overall based on fiscal year 2013 results. The Fortune 500 ranking only considers companies incorporated in the United States and filing with a domestic government agency. Companies on the list are ranked solely on revenue.
The Barron’s 500 is a ranking of the largest publicly traded companies in the United States and Canada as measured by sales in the latest fiscal year. Prepared by HOLT, a unit of Credit Suisse, it seeks to identify companies with superior financial performance. HOLT compares the 500 companies using three equally weighted measures: sales growth in the latest fiscal year, adjusted for divestitures; median three-year return on investment, based on a cash-flow calculation the firm calls CFROI; and the change in CFROI in the latest fiscal year relative to the three-year median. In 52-Week Total Return versus the Standard & Poor’s 500, Hormel Foods ranked No. 124. This ranking is based on financial measures, including cash flow and sales growth, and it is not open to third-party influence.
In 2009, Hormel Foods joined the Standard & Poor's 500 List. The Standard & Poor's 500 List is a leading indicator of U.S. equities.
Hormel Foods is proud to be listed on the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats index, which measures the performance of large cap, blue chip companies within the S&P 500 that have followed a policy of increasing dividends every year for at least 25 consecutive years.
Hormel Foods acquisition of the SKIPPY® peanut butter business was recognized with Mergers and Acquisitions Magazine's 2013 M&A Mid-Market Award for Deal of the Year for the transaction’s impact on growing business in non-meat foods and in China.
Hormel Foods was ranked No. 15 on the 2015 Best Companies for Leaders list by Chief Executive magazine. Chief Executive magazine compiles the list each year to identify companies that excel in leadership development.
In spring 2015, Symplicity named Hormel Foods one of the Best Places To Work For Recent Grads. Companies across the country were evaluated on a 5-point grading scale based on employee ratings, work/life balance, benefits, company culture, mentorship, training programs and other opportunities that appeal to recent graduates.
For the second year in a row, Hormel Foods has been named one of the most trustworthy companies in America by Trust Across America. To create this list, Trust Across America evaluated more than 2,000 publically traded North American companies on five equally weighted quantitative indicators of trustworthiness: financial stability, conservative accounting, corporate integrity, transparency and sustainability.
Hormel Foods ranked No. 304 on the U.S. 500 list, up from No. 421 in 2012. This is the fifth time the Hormel Foods has been included on the list. To compile the Green Rankings, Newsweek/Corporate Knights evaluated and ranked the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the United States (the U.S. 500) and the world (the Global 500) by market capitalization on overall environmental performance. The 2014 rankings are based on publicly available information. Based on data calculated by the research group Corporate Knights, each company is assessed on environmentally focused key performance indicators such as energy productivity, GHG productivity, water productivity, and green sanctions.
In 2015, we were recognized for our unwavering dedication to doing business responsibly with a 100 Best Corporate Citizens award for the seventh consecutive year.
