  • Faribault council gives the nod for the Jennie-O Turkey Store addition

    Jennie-O Turkey Store in Faribault is hoping to get construction underway on its 17,521-square-foot addition within the next 30 days. Upon completion, John Hotek, director of engineering for Jennie-O Turkey Store, told the council it’ll take roughly 20 to 25 new, skilled employees to operate, maintain and manage the state-of-the-art equipment.

  • Hormel's latest profit beats forecasts despite bird flu impact, company raises outlook

  • Demand for meat snacks in the US keeps growing

This past July, for example, Hormel Foods Corp., Austin, Minn., unveiled Spam Snacks, which are dried meat chunks in such flavors as classic, teriyaki and bacon. Hormel also is testing a new snack item from its Jennie-O Turkey Store brand.

  • Hormel anniversary party set for next July

    Hormel Foods Corp.’s 125th anniversary celebration is ready to roll. The Austin City Council approved an event application for the event on Monday. The party will take place from 2 to 10:30 p.m. July 29, 2016 along North Main Street from First Avenue Northwest to the Austin Municipal Pool. The celebration will feature two stages with live bands and fireworks, among other things.
