The company produces and supplies pre-cooked meats for the foodservice and prepared foods industries. Randick succeeds David F. Weber who was recently named vice president of marketing, foodservice, Hormel Foods.

  • Report: 15 Minnesota Companies Get Top Marks For LGBT Equality

    Fifteen of Minnesota’s largest businesses got top marks for being LGBT-friendly, according to a new report by the Human Rights Campaign.  HRC’s “Corporate Equality Index” rates companies on the presence of non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, demonstrated competency and accountability around LGBT diversity and inclusion, public commitments to LGBT equality and “responsible citizenship.”

  • Major urban centres lead China's growing appetite for meat

    The country’s Ministry of Agriculture predicts Chinese are likely to consume 100 million tonnes (mt) of meat in 2020, while the domestic meat production capacity would be only about 90mt . Such a shortage is encouraging meat companies to invest heavily in the country. US meat producer Hormel Foods, for example, recently started building a new production plant in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on the east coast, despite China’s slowing economy. The US$350 million plant, which is expected to start operation by the end of 2016, will be the first Chinese plant to produce Hormel’s processed meat Spam, supplying retailers and foodservice outlets across China.

  • Hormel’s hunger efforts take a step forward

    Hormel Foods Corp.’s hunger-fighting meat spread took another step forward and is going worldwide. The Austin-based meat packing company’s fortified poultry-based spread (FPBS), which was developed through Project Spammy in Guatemala, is now available for purchase by hunger relief organizations under Title I for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) feeding programs and Title II for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs.
