The American Red Cross honored Hormel Foods and its employees with the “Circle of Humanitarians” award for their combined contributions of nearly $300,000 for people whose lives were impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Since 1891, Hormel Foods has been a leader in producing delicious, innovative and safe food products, and since 1891, we’ve been winning awards. There are many awards that companies like ours get from other companies, for things such as innovation or smart marketing—and those are nice, certainly, but they’re not our favorite awards—not by a long shot. Our favorite awards ceremonies are when we are named one of China’s 10 Best Employers, like we were in 2001, when Jennie-O Turkey Store wins the HREvolution Award for helping team members during a crisis, or when we’re named to the Forbes Platinum 400 as one of America’s Best Big Companies.
We appreciate every award we receive, and we work hard to make sure we keep our award-winning standards high, but there’s nothing quite like being recognized as a good, fair place to work. As a company that treats its employees and community with the respect and gratitude they deserve. As a company that, when it calls its people family, really means it.
