Brian D. Johnson
Corporate Secretary
As Corporate Secretary and Senior Attorney, Brian D. Johnson handles all aspects of corporate governance, acquisitions and joint ventures, and securities and financing matters for Hormel Foods Corporation. He also serves on the Disclosure and Compliance Committees.
Johnson started with Hormel Foods in 1995 as a corporate attorney. He was promoted to senior attorney in 2000. In 2005, Johnson was promoted to assistant secretary and was promoted to corporate secretary in 2007. Prior to joining Hormel Foods, he practiced law with Doherty, Rumble & Butler, P.A.
Johnson graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree, cum laude, with majors in accounting, finance and real estate/insurance, and minors in economics and political science. He earned designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 1984 and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif with a J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1991.
Johnson volunteers in the local community, serving on a variety of civic, charitable and church boards and committees. He is currently chair of the Austin Area Joint Airport Zoning Board.
