Vice President – Operations, Grocery Products

Michael Devine 

As the vice president of operations for the Grocery Products division at Hormel Foods, Michael L. Devine is responsible for the grocery products processing plants and co-packer operations.

Devine started with Hormel Foods in 1976 as a management trainee at the Fort Dodge, Iowa, plant. He was promoted to production supervisor of the Beloit, Wis., plant in 1976. In 1985, he became the Hormel Foods operations coordinator/manager at Lakeside Foods in Plainview, Minn.

In 1994, Devine was named product manufacturing manager of Grocery Products in Austin, Minn. He relocated to Stockton, Calif., in 1996 and became plant manager. He was promoted to director of Grocery Products operations strategy in 2007 and was named to his current position in 2008.

A native of Chebanse, Ill., Devine received his bachelor’s degree in industrial management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

He is currently a member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association
Excellence Share Group and is on the Board of Directors of the Shelf Stable Food Processors Association.
