Venturing South of the Border
In 1935, the Geo. A. Hormel & Company took America’s palates south of the border with Hormel® chili. Although chili enjoyed wide acceptance in the South, Southwest and far West by the early 1930s, it was virtually unknown in other parts of the United States. Once the rest of America realized what they were missing, chili shot to national popularity, and in no time, Geo. A. Hormel & Company was the biggest producer of canned chili in the nation. Today, chili continues to be a beloved and nutritious family favorite throughout every part of the United States.
Delicious a Million Ways and Counting
Innovative cooks have always loved to experiment with different variations on basic chili, and today the local favorite varies widely from region to region. A Texan wouldn’t dream of putting beans in his chili, while in Boston it wouldn’t be chili without them. In Cincinnati, the predominant chili recipe includes cinnamon while in other parts of the country they make it with macaroni. Our chili is so full of beefy flavor and balanced spices that it’s welcome on any table, anywhere. Despite the many tastes to please, Hormel® chili is loved by one and all.
Whether you serve it in a bowl, on a hot dog, or as a topping for fries and nachos, choose the chili craved by chili lovers—choose Hormel® chili.
