Quality Assurance
Hormel Foods’ Quality & Process Control team experiences a great deal of variety by consulting with management, providing leadership on quality in the facilities, and approving product ingredients/labels to ensure nutritional compliance with company policy. Quality & Process Control Supervisors also implement our Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point program, oversee sanitation procedures and food safety, as well as collect and analyze data for new or modified product lines. Other responsibilities include training and managing quality auditors, working with the USDA, assisting other departments, and communicating test results.

TRAINING: Training is hands-on and consists of supervisory training and courses in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Total Quality Control (TQC), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). Quality Assurance Management candidates typically begin their career in our Atlanta, GA; Austin, MN; Beloit, WI; Fremont, NE, Osceola, IA; or Rochelle, IL plants. Other plant locations include facilities in Kansas, Iowa, and California.
ADVANCEMENT: The Quality & Process Control Career path may include advancing to a higher-level quality management position at your current location, another facility, subsidiary location, or the Corporate Office. Our promote-from-within philosophy rewards outstanding performance with rapid advancement and may provide opportunities for advancement within other divisions in the Company as well.

QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Business, Industrial Management, Industrial Technology, Animal Science, Meat Science, Mathematics, Management, or Business Administration (or a related field), with a minimum 2.70 cumulative GPA requirement. Candidates must possess strong analytical and math skills, and be open to relocation. A requirement of this position is to be a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
