@HormelFoods “LENDING A HELPING HAM” SWEEPSTAKES

Twitter users will have from 9 a.m. CT on Sunday, December 11, 2011 until 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 17, 2011 to follow us and retweet the Sweepstakes tweet to be eligible to win. We will randomly select two (2) lucky winners each day from the entrants to receive a gift card that can be used toward the purchase of a Hormel® Cure 81® ham! The gift card will not exceed an Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of $20.00.

Remember, you’ll only be eligible for a chance to win if you are a follower of @HormelFoods!

How to enter:

1. Become a follower of @HormelFoods prior to or within the “Promotion Period”:  9 a.m. CT on Sunday, December 11, 2011 until 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
2. Retweet: “We’re #LendingAHelpingHam! Follow us & RT this to be eligible to win a $20 gift card. Use it for your holiday Cure 81® ham!”
3. There is a limit of fourteen (14) winners for the “Lending a Helping Ham” Sweepstakes.
4. Because we want to share the joy, there is a limit of one (1) gift card per person/household for the duration of the sweepstakes (i.e. you can only win once).
5. By entering and participating, you agree to the official rules below.

  1. HOW TO ENTER: Sweepstakes begins on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 9 a.m. CT and ends at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 17, 2011. To enter the Sweepstakes: you must have or create a non-private Twitter account. If you already have a Twitter account, you will have to sign in to your account. If you are not an existing member of Twitter, you will be required to follow the directions and join Twitter. When you join Twitter, you are indicating that you have read and agree to accept the Twitter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Membership to Twitter.com is free. To enter the Sweepstakes, you must be a follower of @HormelFoods prior to or within the “Promotion Period” and retweet: We’re #LendingAHelpingHam! Follow us & RT this to be eligible to win a $20 gift card. Use it for your holiday Cure 81® ham!” Hormel Foods Corporation ("Hormel Foods") employees, promotion and judging agencies, Twitter employees, and each of their respective parents, affiliates, divisions, and agencies, and all of the foregoing entities' respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (the "Released Parties") are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, human or printing errors, or for late, lost, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, mechanically reproduced, or illegible and/or postage-due mail or entries. All entries become the property of Sponsor. Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized Twitter account holder associated with the username used to enter via Twitter. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to a username by twitter.com. You must enter using only a twitter.com account subscribed to and registered in your name. The potential winner may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the user name/Twitter Account associated with the winning entry.  
  2. ELIGIBILITY. Sweepstakes open only to legal residents of 50 United States who have reached the age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence at time of entry (generally age 18, except age 19 in AL and NE). Hormel Foods employees, promotion and judging agencies, each of their respective parents, affiliates, divisions, and agencies, and their respective immediate families (spouse, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses) and household members of each are ineligible to enter or win. Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. All terms and conditions of Twitter.com apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

  3. FOR A CHANCE TO WIN: The Sweepstakes will have seven (7) Sweepstakes Submission Periods (each a “Sweepstakes Submission Period”) during which entries can be submitted. Sweepstakes Submission Period One (1) begins at 9:00 a.m. CT on December 11, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 11, 2011. Sweepstakes Submission Period Two (2) begins at 5:01 p.m. CT on December 11, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 12, 2011. Sweepstakes Submission Period Three (3) begins at 5:01 p.m. CT on December 12, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 13, 2011. Sweepstakes Submission Period Four (4) begins at 5:01 p.m. CT on December 13, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 14, 2011. Sweepstakes Submission Period Five (5) begins at 5:01 p.m. CT on December 14, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 15, 2011. Sweepstakes Submission Period Six (6) begins at 5:01 p.m. CT on December 15, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 16, 2011. Sweepstakes Submission Period Seven (7) begins at 5:01 p.m. CT on December 16, 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on December 17, 2011.   

    To enter, entrants must be a follower of @HormelFoods prior to or within the “Promotion Period” and retweet: “We’re #LendingAHelpingHam! Follow us & RT this to be eligible to win a $20 gift card. Use it for your holiday Cure 81® ham!”

    To be eligible, an entry must be received by Sponsor during one of the seven (7) Sweepstakes Submission Periods. Limit one (1) entry per person per Sweepstakes Submission Period. Two (2) winners will be randomly chosen on or about the end of each Sweepstakes Submission Period by Burson-Marsteller, an independent judging organization whose decisions on all matters pertaining to the Sweepstakes are final. There will be a total of fourteen (14) winners during the Promotion Period.

    All properly claimed prizes will be awarded. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Periods. Limit of one (1) gift card per person, family or household. Winners will be notified by direct message to person’s Twitter account. You must provide your mailing address to claim your gift card, and winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility (which affirms that they have complied with these Rules) as well as a liability release, and, where legal, a publicity release, all of which must be completed, signed and returned within fourteen (14) days from date on which the documents are sent to the prospective winner or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner, who may be chosen at the sole discretion of the sponsor. Acceptance of the coupon constitutes permission for Sponsor to use winners' names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional notice or compensation unless prohibited by law.

  4. PRIZE PACK: The one (1) gift card will not exceed an Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of $20.00 per winner; total of fourteen (14) gift cards during the promotion. Odds of winning are dependent on number of eligible entries received. All taxes, fees and any other expenses not specified herein, including without limitation, income taxes, related to the gift card awarded and its receipt are the sole responsibility of the winner. No prize substitution or transfer of prize permitted except by Sponsor. If a potential winner does not wish to accept the prize, an alternate will be selected from the pool of eligible entrants. By entering, participants and winners agree to be bound by these Official Rules and agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, actions, damages and/or liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or entry into this Sweepstakes or acceptance, use, misuse, non-use or possession of any prize won or in connection with any Sweepstakes-related activity or from merchandise delivery, from claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, or any other intellectual property or personal rights related cause of action. All details of a prize not set forth herein shall be determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
  5. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Released Parties are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, postage-due, and/or illegible entries or mail. If, in Sponsor's opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if fraud or actions by entrants, compromise, corrupt or affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual and/or void any entries submitted fraudulently, to modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, or to terminate the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to award the gift card using all non-suspect eligible entries received as of the date of such action. No more than the stated number of gift cards will be awarded during the Sweepstakes.
  6. USE OF DATA: Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy as well as Twitter's privacy policy. By participating in the Promotion, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted the foregoing privacy policies.
