On Wednesday, July 29th, 70 Hormel Foods interns and 10 Talent Acquisition/Talent Development team members spread out to lend a hand across five community sites. They visited the United Way of Mower County, Mower County Humane Society, Second Act Thrift Store, Rachel’s Hope, and Wagon Wheels, to give back in a big way. Together, they logged 138 hours of service in just two hours, creating an estimated $4,600 in community impact.
At Second Act, the interns’ focused effort and visible progress in that short window were enough to change Whalen’s outlook. What once felt like an ambitious three-day goal suddenly felt within reach, and his skepticism gave way to confidence in the timeline.
Moments like these bring Good Feeds Us All, Hormel Foods’ global impact framework, to life. Through the Society pillar, we are committed to strengthening the communities we serve, and this year’s interns did exactly that.
