Boosting Food Security in our Communities

Tags
Team members from Century Foods International (Sparta, Wis.), Lloyd’s Barbeque Company (Mendota Heights, Minn.) and the Suffolk(Va.) Plant recently aided the fight against hunger by handing out checks for $10,000 in their communities. All funds went to charitable organizations that serve those in need.

Team members from Century Foods presented their $10,000 donation to Couleecap , an organization that helps people with housing, food, transportation and more. Couleecap fights poverty and promotes self sufficiency, economic development, social justice and personal responsibility. In addition, the Century Foods team hosted a Thanksgiving food drive.

Lloyd’s Barbeque team members split their donation between two local organizations. They presented a $5,000 check to Second Heartland, marking the 10th consecutive year of partnership between Lloyd’s Barbeque and Second Heartland.
The other half of the $10,000 donation was presented to Agate Housing & Services in Minneapolis, Minn. This organization is
determined to end homelessness and make sure every person and family have basic human needs met with a hopeful path ahead.

Lastly, team members at the Suffolk Plant chose to present their $10,000 donation to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia, an organization that provides food assistance to those in the surrounding area. Team members collected a variety of food donations to present as well.

Together we are making an impact in the communities in which we work and live. Great job, team!
