Connections Drive Intern Experience
Across teams, these bright students are experiencing what it means to join a company that prioritizes learning and connection from day one.
“[During the past two weeks,] I felt like part of the team because people were always willing to answer my questions and walk me through processes,” one intern shared. That sense of belonging shows up in daily interactions, not just formal programs.
Mentorship is a core part of the experience. Leaders and team members are making time to guide development. “My supervisor [has taken] the time to explain things step by step and even tailored my project to what I wanted to learn,” one intern noted. Others described hands-on learning across labs, plants and customer-facing events that are helping to build confidence.
Connection across the company also stands out. Interns are building relationships beyond their immediate teams through introductions, coffee chats and cross-functional meetings. “People go out of their way to connect with me and make sure I have what I need,” one intern said.
Interns are not just observing — they are contributing, learning and building relationships that support their growth and the future of Hormel Foods.
