Recently, the Hormel Foods anniversary website, www.hormelfoods125.com, was named an award winner in the W3 Awards from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, which honors creative excellence on the web.

“Our anniversary website was a fun challenge; it needed to honor the 125-year legacy of Hormel Foods, while sharing the celebration stories from our employees across the world and looking ahead to the next 125 years,” said Beth Hillson, digital communications assistant. “Thank you to everyone who contributed photos and stories.”

The website was created to share the stories of each location’s celebrations, the rich history of our company and plans for celebrations that were upcoming.

The website received awards in the categories of General Website – Corporate Communication and Website Feature – Structure and Navigation. The website was judged on the following factors: creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use.

The W3 Awards honor superior creativity on the web and recognizes the individuals behind award winning websites, web advertising and web video. Winning entries are selected by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). The AIVA is a membership-based organization of professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts, dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
