Hormel Foods Donation Helps Fight Hunger in Albin

Albin, Wyo.

PFFJ Farms, LLC, a subsidiary owned by Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE:HRL), announced today that it will donate a total of $10,000 to local organizations to fight hunger.

The donation is part of the Hormel Foods Plant Community Donations Program, which gives employees the opportunity to assist local hunger relief organizations and strengthen the communities where they live and work.

The donations will go to Friday Food Bag Foundation and Needs, Inc. Friday Food Bag Foundation delivers bags of nutritious, non-perishable food each Friday while school is in session to children who otherwise might not eat well, or at all, during the weekends. Needs, Inc., helps fill hunger, clothing and school needs and is Laramie County’s only publicly open food pantry.

PFFJ Farms also donated a total of $10,000 to these organizations in 2014.

“We are thrilled to continue to assist these organizations in the fight against hunger in our community,” said Jose L. Rojas, vice president of farm operations at PFFJ Farms. “Our company is proud to support neighbors and friends to help fight hunger right here.”

“Our employees are committed to helping those in need in our community,” added Robert Bortz, production manager at PFFJ Farms. “We are proud to do our part to help this organization feed families in need.”

For the fifth consecutive year, Hormel Foods is giving funds to U.S. manufacturing facilities to share with nonprofits in their respective communities to fight hunger. In 2014, Hormel Foods donated $390,000 to local hunger relief organizations in 39 U.S. communities where it has manufacturing facilities, bringing the program’s total contribution to local hunger relief efforts to nearly $1 million thus far. In 2015, the company will provide 39 plant locations with funds to continue the program.

“We’re committed to fighting hunger in the communities where our employees live and work,” said Julie H. Craven, vice president of corporate communications at Hormel Foods. “Last year was a record year in terms of community hunger donations, and we are confident that 2015 will be equally as impactful.”

Hormel Foods is helping those in need both in the United States and internationally through its On Our Way to Ending Hunger program. The company collaborates with retailers, nonprofits and the government on hunger relief efforts; nourishes the hungry in the U.S. and abroad; and motivates individuals and corporate partners to take action to fight hunger.
