You should not serve refrigerated meat products past their listed expiration dates. You should use or freeze products by the “Use By” or “Freeze By” date printed on the product.
Once opened, Hormel® Cure 81® ham can be stored in the refrigerator for five to seven days.
Leftover cooked ham should be tightly wrapped and refrigerated promptly after the meal.
Ham may be kept frozen for up to 60 days. The nutritional value of the ham will be maintained, but not its full flavor and texture. If you must freeze your ham, wrap it tightly.
Always check the label for storage and handling instructions. The “Best If Purchased By” date indicates the suggested time for purchase to ensure the ham’s best flavor and texture.
Once you open a Hormel Foods product, it should be removed from the package, transferred to an air-tight container and placed in a refrigerator immediately. You should then consume the product within two to three days.
We do not recommend freezing the container. Freezing will not harm the integrity of the container, but it may diminish the quality of the product’s texture and flavor.
We recommend using our canned item by the date printed on the container for best quality, flavor and freshness. After this time, the product should be safe to use as long as the can has not been compromised (no dents, split seams or other container damage).
We recommend storing canned items in a cool, dry place to adequately preserve the flavor.
The product is always safe to consume as long as the seal has remained intact, unbroken and securely attached. However, the flavor and freshness of the product gradually begin to decline after three years from the manufacturing date.
Once a Hormel Foods product is opened, it should be removed from the package, transferred to an air-tight container and placed in a refrigerator immediately. You should then consume the product within two to three days.
