  • Accounting

    STAFF ACCOUNTANT: Hormel Foods has exciting opportunities and challenges for staff accountants within our organization. As key partners on the management team, staff accountants support a variety of departments in carrying out their business transactions and projects. Staff accountants also participate in management decisions that affect the short- and long-term goals of the company. Employees in accounting undergo comprehensive training and are then assigned to cost accountancy, general accounting or internal audit.

  • Engineering

    INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER: Their main responsibility is to drive continuous improvement in our plant operations.  As an industrial engineer, you can expect ongoing training to ensure your skills will be used and refined throughout your career.

    MAINTENANCE ENGINEER: Maintenance engineers at Hormel Foods guide and direct a staff of skilled craftspersons, maintenance technicians and other support personnel engaged in activities involving the installation, repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.

  • Information Technology Services

    PROGRAMMER ANALYST: Within Information Technology Services at Hormel Foods, the programmer analyst position combines computer programming, systems analysis and systems support responsibility. Programmer analysts are involved in proactive, creative projects such as designing systems and writing or customizing programs for internal customers and fellow employees. They are members of the company management team and are expected to be conversant in the business and apply computer systems to solve business problems.

  • Operations

    PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR: Production supervisors are responsible for the success of a department in one of our manufacturing plants. They each manage approximately 15 to 30 employees, leading them to achieve the department’s safety, productivity and quality goals. Their activities include scheduling products, coordinating transportation and supplies, verifying daily inventories, enforcing company policies, planning monthly meetings and motivating employees. Production supervisors make all departmental decisions, essentially running their own business within a business.

  • Quality Assurance Management

    QUALITY AND PROCESS CONTROL SUPERVISOR: Hormel Foods Quality and Process Control team members experience a great deal of variety in their jobs by consulting with management, providing leadership on quality in the facilities, and approving product ingredients/labels to ensure nutritional compliance with company policy. Quality and process control supervisors also implement our Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point program, oversee sanitation procedures and food safety and collect and analyze data for new or modified product lines. Other responsibilities include training and managing quality auditors, working with the USDA, assisting other departments and communicating test results.

  • Research and Development

    The R&D team at Hormel Foods is comprised of food technologists, sensory analysts and research scientists, as well as product development chefs who prepare our wonderful creations. The R&D team works closely with Marketing, Operations and other R&D managers to create, conduct, analyze and report the results of research to these colleagues. The company's success in developing breakthrough products that are healthier, easier to use and better tasting is a result of the solid teamwork and efforts of our R&D Division.

  • Sales

    SALES REPRESENTATIVE: Hormel Foods has exciting opportunities for sales representatives in our two different divisions: Consumer Products and Foodservice. Sales representatives are responsible for calling on a variety of customers with the objective of increasing sales for their district. They achieve increases by adding products to distribution and expanding the usage of existing Hormel Foods products. In addition, representatives are in charge of implementing marketing strategies for their products.

  • Supply Chain and Logistics Management

    SHIPPING AND WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR: Members of the Supply Chain and Logistics Management team supervise and train employees; coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of product; analyze least-cost distribution methods; and manage third-party carriers to meet customer needs and ensure that all products arrive safely and on time. From time-to-time they are also involved in special projects, such as tracking costs and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
