As executive vice president and chief financial officer for Hormel Foods, Jim Sheehan leads all financial areas of Hormel Foods Corporation including accounting, information technology, internal audit, investor relations and treasury. Hormel Foods is a global branded food company with over $9 billion in annual revenues across 75 countries worldwide. Its brands include SKIPPY^®, SPAM^®, Hormel^® Natural Choice^®, Applegate^®, Justin’s^®, Columbus^®, Wholly^® Guacamole, Hormel^® Black Label^® and more than 30 other beloved brands. The company is a member of the S&P 500 Index and the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats, was named one of “The 100 Best Corporate Citizens” by Corporate Responsibility Magazine for the 12th year in a row, and has received numerous other awards and accolades for its corporate responsibility and community service efforts.

Sheehan’s career with Hormel Foods began in 1978. Over the years, he held various management and leadership positions in accounting and finance for the company. In 1998, he became the president of Hormel Financial Services and a year later became treasurer. He advanced to vice president and controller in 2000. He was named chief accounting officer in May 2016 and assumed the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer in October 2016.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Missouri Western State University, where he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017. He is also a graduate of the Minnesota Executive Program at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

In addition to his professional involvement, Sheehan is involved in numerous professional and nonprofit organizations. Sheehan is an active member of the community as the treasurer of the Austin Area Catholic School Foundation. He is also a former board member of the Austin Country Club, Mower County Red Cross, the Mower County United Way and the Austin Public Library. Sheehan is involved in the Financial Executive Institute and the Institute of Management Accountants.
